This is the prominent 1861 illustrated edition of Thomas Moore’s Lalla Rookh, widely considered a high-Victorian “Gift Book” masterpiece. It is distinguished by its extensive illustrations, which were created by John Tenniel just a few years before his work on Alice in Wonderland. Contains four narrative poems with a connecting tale in prose.

Binding: Publisher’s full calf leather, bevelled edges, gilt detailing to boards and spine.
Condition: Extremities slightly rubbed, very light foxing in the first few pages; a very good copy.
