Robert Home (1752-1834) arrived in Madras in 1791 without official permission from the East India Co, just as Cornwallis and his army were marching to Banglore. During his time in India, he made numerous topographical drawings, including these Select views in Mysore. For many years he was the chief painter to the King of Oude. It is said that he amassed a large fortune from his ceremonial paintings.

Binding: Reback spine with original from and back boards. Gilt lettering on spine with raised bands.
